How to use an error log to improve PMP® practice scores
Wrong answers are data. If you only feel bad and move on, you will see the same miss again in a new wrapper. A lightweight log turns misses into targeted fixes.
What to record in each entry
Minimum viable fields: date, topic/domain guess, mistake type (misread stem, weak concept, time pressure, two-plausible trap), and one sentence of the correct reasoning in your own words.
Keep it fast—30–60 seconds per item—so you actually maintain the habit.
Classify mistakes to choose the right fix
Misreads need reading drills and slower first passes. Concept gaps need targeted reading and simpler questions until stable. Time issues need pacing checkpoints.
Schedule revisits deliberately
Revisit entries after a few days, not immediately, to test retention. If you repeat the same classification weekly, escalate the fix (different source, tutor, or study group).
Pair the log with PMPath practice
Use practice sessions to generate high-quality mistakes—then log them. PMPath questions are for learning and are not real exam items.
